Animated, action-packed fantasy adventure set in a post-apocalyptic future where the human race has been destroyed by machines which they themselves created. All that exists, aside from a number of the machines, is a group of sapient rag dolls brought to life by a scientist in the final days of humanity who stumble upon 9 (voiced by Elijah Wood), another of their own kind. The group, consisting of war veteran and leader 1 (Christopher Plummer), frail inventor 2 (Martin Landau), non-verbal twins 3 and 4, engineer 5 (John C Reilly), vision-plagued artist 6 (Crispin Glover), brave fighter 7 (Jennifer Connelly), and dim but strong 8 (Fred Tatasciore), welcome 9 in the hope that he can help them muster the courage to battle the remaining machines and save what is left of the world.
High flying animated comedy adventure from Pixar Studios. 70-something retired balloon salesman Carl Fredricksen (voiced by Edward Asner) decides to use his twilight years to fulfil his lifelong dream of travelling through the wilds of South America. Tying thousands of balloons to his house, he lifts off for his big adventure - only to discover that he has inadvertently brought a stowaway along with him in the form of Russell (Jordan Nagai), an eight-year-old wilderness explorer who is desperate to earn his 'Helping the Elderly' merit badge. The film won awards for Best Animated Feature Film and Best Music at both the 2010 BAFTAs and the Academy Awards.
In 1943, with Rome occupied by the Nazis, Monsignor Hugh O'Flaherty (Gregory Peck) does all he can to help Allied POWs, providing them with hiding places and assisting them in their flight from the Germans. Gestapo Chief Colonel Herbert Kappler (Christopher Plummer) grows suspicious of O'Flaherty, but is frustrated by the priest's diplomatic immunity. Finally, he issues an order that O'Flaherty either be captured or shot if he is ever seen outside the walls of the Vatican.
The Starship Enterprise is sent to escort the Klingon chancellor to peace negotiations with the Federation. When the chancellor is assassinated, the Klingons refuse to continue negotiations unless Captain Kirk (William Shatner) and Dr McCoy (De Forrest Kelley) are tried for the chancellor's murder in a Klingon court. Kirk and McCoy are sentenced to life imprisonment in a penal colony, leaving Spock in charge of the Enterprise and the only one who can solve the riddle of the murder.
Rod Taylor and Christopher Plummer star in this 1960s action thriller adapted from Jon Cleary's novel 'The High Commissioner'. Australian police sergeant Scobie Malone (Taylor) is sent to London to arrest High Commissioner Sir James Quentin (Plummer), who is currently engaged in sensitive peace talks, on the suspicion of murdering his first wife 25 years previously. Malone allows Quentin a few days to finish his work before taking him back to Australia and during this time stays with the suspect and his second wife Sheila (Lilli Palmer) in their home. Complications arise, however, when Malone finds himself having to prevent Quentin's assassination at the hands of a ruthless group of spies.
